Autumn Weekend Cruises in Zeeland 2017
14-15 October, 21-22 October, 28-29 October, 4-5 November and 11-12 November
Twilight in Wemeldinge, NL, home port of BlueOne
Our end-of-summer cruises in Zeeland are fully booked. But before the season ends, we're organising a few more!
Our CNCE end-of-summer cruises this year have been a great success, with all five weekends being fully booked. That's why we want to stretch the 2017 sailing season as far as we can and organise an Autumn cruising session before BlueOne is hauled out of the water for the winter. Clearly, the weather will get a tad colder as the weeks roll by, but who's ever been afraid of a little cold? Write to us on blueone(at)sailcnce.eu or fill in the contact form below if you are interested in taking part.
There are a couple of provisos:
- The weekends with a skipper's name next to it are confirmed, so members can subscribe on a first-paid-first-served basis. Those weekends where you do not see a skipper's name are not confirmed, but you may still express interest by writing in.
- A skipper may decide, in consultation with the club management, to cancel a cruise in case of adverse weather, in which case members will be fully reimbursed.

Itinerary
A weekend cruise typically starts on Friday evening in the harbour village of Wemeldinge (NL) where our boat is berthed. Its a mere 1h15m drive from Brussels. On meeting, the skipper will brief the crew about the sailing itinerary, which will depend on the weather conditions, notably the wind, the sea state and the crew's experience. Virtually anywhere you sail to in Zeeland has a unique charm. Towns like Zierekzee, Colijsnplaat, Goes, Yerseke, Bruinisse Brouwershaven, Kortgene or Veere are the stuff of postcards. The two days of cruising end on Sunday afternoon at around 5pm when BlueOne calls back to the home port of Wemeldinge.
What do you do during a cruise?
Much as in getting to the destination, the beauty of sailing lies in the journey itself. So a weekend cruise is enjoyable from the moment you step on the boat up until the very end. Weekend cruises in Zeeland are ideal for CNCE members to build up miles, learn navigation techniques and widen their sailing experience. It doesn't matter your level, you will always learn something new every time. Of course, team spirit is one essential ingredient. Other ingredients include good food and good wine of course!
How much will it cost?
The Participation Fee for a weekend cruise is EUR120 per sailor per weekend.
This excludes a shared kitty to cover breakfasts, lunches or dinners prepared on board and diesel used during the cruise. As most of us live in Brussels, we often car pool to get to Zeeland and back.
What do I need to bring with me?
Depending on the weather forecast, you will need warm clothes (fleeces are best) and oilies to wear on passage. You might still end up wearing short sleeves, so be prepared for that too. You will get a berth where to sleep on board, and you will definitely need some kind of bedding. A sleeping bag is ideal. You also need to bring your own personal showering bag and towels (marina facilities in the Netherlands are usually very clean and you can have a hot shower!)
What do I do next?
If you've read till here, then you're seriously considering joining. Write to us as soon as possible using the form below as these events tend to fill up quickly. If you know someone who could be interested, why not give them a little push?
CNCE works on a first-paid-first-served basis, so be sure to transfer your Participation Fee to the club account to secure your participation.

Please remember to indicate what event you are enrolling for and the date in your transfer narrative!
What happens once I've signed up?
Someone from the CNCE will get in touch with you confirming that you are enrolled to the event. A few weeks before the event, the skipper will get in touch with you with more details. You will get to know who the other participants are so that you may agree on car pooling, a food shopping list and so on. The skipper may indicate a possible itinerary already, even if this may change because the weather can only be forecast reliably with a two or three days in advance.
