In the spring of 2017, seasoned CNCE skipper Ken Patterson embarked on the trip of a lifetime. He sailed his boat down the western coast of Europe to the Canaries and Cape Verde. In January 2018, he completed the first transatlantic leg of his journey. After cruising the Caribbean, he reached the Portuguese Island Ilhas das Flores (Azores) in May 2018. Back in the UK after another successful crossing, he invited sailors to join him on a cruise along the west coast of Wales. Ken recently completed the last leg of his amazing adventure, sailing Zaria safely back to Nieuwpoort, Belgium.
On 2/3 June, old and new CNCE members got together for the traditional two-day sailing experience in Bruinisse, Zeeland. Like every year, the Club’s Beginners’ Course had plenty to offer: sailing on valks and yachts with experienced skippers and coaches, valk regattas and a barbecue buffet on Saturday night followed by party music and caipirinhas mixed by DJ Carlos. The participants spent a weekend in the good company of like-minded people - some curious, others already passionate about sailing.
A big thank you to all those who took part - beginners and volunteers - we hope to see you back very soon!
