Yacht RacingOur club has a programme for members interested in yacht racing and regattas. Over the past years we have taken part in several inshore races in the Netherlands and Belgium, the legendary Cowes Week on the Isle of Wight, as well as offshore ones such as the Ostend-Ramsgate regatta and the 400-mile Colin Archer Race from the Netherlands to Norway.
We are now developing a team of sailors around BlueOne, our Beneteau First 36.7. Last year's racing activities started with training sessions in Zeeland, followed by the Ostend-Ramsgate offshore race and DeltaWeek in June. The season ended with the classic Antwerp Race in October. Competitive yacht racing is not a sailing holiday where you drink wine and anchor in pretty bays. It is strenuous and requires constant concentration from crew. But it is highly rewarding, fun, and a fast-track to learning how to sail! |
Interested in yacht racing but you're not sure it's for you? Try one of our training sessions.
